Starting a new blog seems relatively easy... Yikes! its taken me a while to get this off the ground. So let me start by telling you a bit about myself and why this blog is happening in the first place. A few years ago I made the move to Ontario from my hometown in Montreal. First year in Toronto was hard... just not where I saw myself settling down at all. After a year there, my partner and I moved to the small city of Peterborough, where I now reside. There is lots to love in Peterborough... an awesome bike trail, an abundance of nature and fresh air, and a great art scene.
I landed here with great intentions but have had some setbacks... mainly hitting menopause and all the joys it brings! It ain't easy settling in and rebuilding your life when your body is changing so rapidly that you don't really know who you are anymore! (and then there's the mental confusion)
I have always been a self-employed entrepreneur. I jump into projects quickly (maybe too much so) and see potential everywhere. Unfortunately, I don't always have the follow through! I got myself into a little trouble here, but that's a story for another time.
I love to teach! I teach yoga and fitness and have for many years. I facilitate trance dance and lead self-discovery workshops. I have travelled the world, I have studied with shamans and healers, and have seen and done some crazy things. I also make kinda crazy costumes and accessories for festivals and other events. I am self-taught and still learning. I consider myself as an artist and dabble in all sorts of things... I haven't fully found my medium but I think I am getting there.
When thinking up the name for my site, I remembered how I used to get together with a bunch of girlfriends and we'd have Goddess nights, where we shared stories, challenges, had a bit too much wine, practiced our aerobics moves which usually end with some dancing. It was great fun... we were grooving and so the name...
My intention is to bring that experience on-line, to share with you some of my stories, some wellness advice, some of my latest projects and such. Hope you jump on board and groove with me!
